PBAA Overview

Founded in 1980, the Potomac Boundary Advisors Association (PBAA) is a regional organization comprised of members of Federal, State and Local Law Enforcement officers, Civilian Volunteers, and associates. These members serve as Advisors and Mentors for their respective agency’s law enforcement Exploring and Public Safety Cadet programs. Members of the PBAA work together to enhance the level of knowledge and training provided to their Explorers and Public Safety Cadets. Hundreds of law enforcement Explorers and Cadets benefit from joint training, network opportunities, career counseling, and physical/mental betterment provided by members
of the PBAA.
With agencies from Central and Southern Maryland, Northern Virginia, and the District of Columbia, Explorers and Cadets are introduced to various policies and styles of policing. Training includes annual leadership academies, competition events, joint weekend training, social activities, and para-military style boot camps. Explorers and Cadets build life-long friendships, learn discipline and respect for others, and establish valuable contacts with other agencies that aid them as they prepare to enter careers in law enforcement and public safety.
